Rice Crispy Treats Recipe (Vegan and Gluten-Free)

rice_crispy_treat_nut_milk_cocoa_comfort_food_picIngredients:

  • 4 cups brown rice crispies (J-Wro uses vanilla and cocoa)
  • 1 tablespoon lucuma powder
  • 1 teaspoon maca powder
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • 1½ tablespoons Warrior Blend vanilla protein
  • ¾ cup organic brown rice syrup
  • 1 tablespoon superfood nut butter of your choice

Directions:

You’ll need a large mixing bowl, a spatula, an 8x8 baking dish, and clean hands. J-Wro starts things off by mixing all the dry ingredients together. He uses the cake batter goodness of Warrior Blend, but feel free to use Classic Plus if you’re lucky enough to have gotten ahold of it.

Now it’s time for the binders, the gooey, sweet, liquid goodies that make this a true treat. Brown rice syrup and your favorite superfood nut butter is all it takes to get things going. Go slow and be gentle. You don’t want to be crushing all those crisps now. The spatula rice_crispy_treats_jason_wrobel_nut_milk_homemade_picmost likely won’t be enough and you may need to get your hand in there. We recommend coating those hands in a small amount of coconut oil to keep them clean-ish, but there may be no avoiding the stickiness, and that’s okay.

You should coat that pan with coconut oil too, before transitioning any of these delicious ingredients over. Press the crispy treats down into the pan and put into the fridge for 30 to 40 minutes. Cut them in into squares once they’ve set.

These are insanely good, people. Let the comforting joy from your childhood fill you up while letting your adult brain be happy about the ingredients in this amazing recipe. Enjoy this one!
