Grassy and nutty don’t sound like good bedfellows, until matcha and peanut butter prove it wrong!
Matcha and peanut butter aren’t exactly an obvious pairing. One’s grassy and a little bitter, then the other’s nutty and salty. On paper, it shouldn’t really work. But somehow, once you blend them together, it just clicks. The peanut butter smooths out the sharpness of the matcha, just as much as the matcha does the same thing for the peanut butter. With a bit of salt that ties both flavors together, this simple high-protein recipe tastes way more balanced than you’d expect.
Ingredients
-
2 tbsp peanut butter
-
1 tsp matcha powder
-
1/2 cup oats
-
1 cup almond milk
-
1/2 cup ice
-
1-2 tsp honey
-
Pinch of salt
Instructions
-
In a small cup, mix the matcha powder with 2-3 tablespoons of warm water. Whisk until smooth and free of clumps.
-
Pour the almond milk into the blender, then add the prepared matcha mixture.
-
Add peanut butter, Warrior Blend Performance, oats, and honey into the blender. Add the ice last.
-
Blend for 30-60 seconds until smooth and creamy. If too thick, add a little more almond milk. If too thin, add a bit more oats.
-
Pour into a glass and stir in a pinch of salt.
