Pumpkin season is here! And to celebrate, we have a pumpkin protein smoothie that will probably become your go-to smoothie recipe for the rest of the season!
As soon as pumpkin season hits, my pantry practically morphs into a canned pumpkin puree warehouse! Since pumpkin puree is so comforting, so delicious, and so darn good for you, fitting it into everything I eat from October to December is non-negotiable!
One of my favorite things to do with pumpkin (and one of the easiest) is to blend it into smoothies! Its creamy texture just screams “blend me into a smoothie!” and its nutritional panel (being so high in fiber, potassium, beta-carotene, vitamin A, and vitamin C plus so low in fat and calories), well, also screams “blend me into a smoothie!”
So, here’s how I blend it into a smoothie to make the pumpkin smoothie I can guarantee will become THE pumpkin protein smoothie you’ll make all pumpkin-season long!
Ingredients
- ⅓ cup pumpkin puree
- ¾ cup almond milk
- 1 tbsp almond butter
- ½ - 1 whole frozen ripe banana
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 2 tbsp - 1 scoop vanilla Sunwarrior Classic Plus plant-protein powder
- sweetener (agave, maple syrup, stevia - to taste)
- couple of ice cubes
