Pina Colada Smoothie

Cue the music “If you like Pina Coladas and getting caught in the rain…” and if you’re not into the whole rain thing, you can still have an awesome Pina Colada smoothie

Treat yourself to an island paradise with this tropical smoothie. There is something about the summertime that makes you want a fun, fruity drink with an umbrella next to the water. The first one that comes to my mind is a Pina Colada. This creamy smoothie will make you think you are indulging in a decadent drink minus the rum. Once this sweet drink hits your lips, it will feel like an instant beach vacation. Feel free to indulge anytime you need a break from reality.

Benefits of Pineapple

Pineapples are a delicious tropical fruit not only for their taste but for their health benefits, too. It includes respiratory health, digestion improvement, weight loss help, bone strengthening, oral health improvement, eye health boost, skin improvement, inflammation reduction, and heart health improvement. Pineapples are a great source of vitamins and minerals that include thiamin, riboflavin, Vitamin C and B-6, folate, magnesium, and potassium.

Fun Fact

Pineapples were first brought to Europe and Spain following Christopher Columbus’s return there in 1493. Historically, the most significant grower of pineapples was Hawaii, but now they are cultivated in Brazil, Philippines, Costa Rica, and Thailand. Pineapples are actually native to Paraguay and Brazil.

Be a pineapple: stand tall, wear a crown, and be sweet on the inside
