If you are like me, you’re working long hours and snacking is your best pal. So, it just might be time to replace your snacks with something healthy and nutritious. That brings us to this delicious recipe that can be eaten during work, pre and post- workout, and during long hikes.

Dates are natural sweeteners- they can help to reduce your sugar cravings and help in weight management. They are natural source of Iron- we lose a lot of iron and calcium as we age. Stress and hormones play a key role in the loss of iron for women. 2-3 dates a day for women especially can do wonders for their health. The inclusion of nuts and seeds means you’re giving yourself a rich source of protein, fat, vitamins, and minerals.

A healthy amount of fat combined with good source of energy, boosted with essential nutrients is a great way to feed your living cells.

Date Rolls: Snack of Champions!

  • 1 cup dates, pitted and made into a paste
  • ¾ cup almonds
  • ¾ cup pine nuts
  • ¾ cup pistachios
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon cacao powder
  • 2 tablespoons spirulina 


  1. Using a food processor, process all ingredients together until they are well combined and smooth
  2. Roll them into small balls of your preferred size
  3. You can roll them over shaved coconut or sliced almonds to give it an extra crunch
  4. Serve them with your favorite cup of tea/coffee
  5. Store them in an air-tight container for longer use
