Apple Spice Protein Pancakes

Fall is here! Which means spice and everything nice! And we’ve got those warming spices ready with these mm-mazing apple spice pancakes. Let the flapjack fabulousness begin!

The flavors of cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin spice, and chai are all autumn favorites. Using spices that reflect upon a season can bring back happy memories linked with food. For this recipe, we decided to use cinnamon, nutmeg, and apple. Your kitchen will smell out of this world from all the aromas and spices in the air. Let’s kick off this season with some delicious flapjacks that are protein-packed and gluten-free.

This recipe uses gluten-free flour, but you can opt for regular flour or even buckwheat flour. Buckwheat flour will give a delicious nutty and dense flavor to the pancakes. These pancakes are heaven on a plate. They are thick, light and fluffy. The best types of pancakes are ones that fluff up to double their size. They are less dense and make an overall better pancake. This recipe comes together in no time. It takes all of five minutes to whip up and less than 10 minutes to cook.

To give an extra crunch to these pancakes, this recipe used freeze-dried apples. You can always opt to use fresh apples as it is the season to do so! We suggest using a Granny Smith apple. Simply dice up your apple, sprinkle some cinnamon, nutmeg, and a touch of coconut sugar, and you have the best apple topping in the world. The final and most important part of this recipe is to drizzle your maple syrup on top. Maple syrup is one of Nature’s wonders. Not only is maple syrup pure and contains no high fructose corn syrup, but it also boosts an incredible amount of nutrients such as calcium, potassium, and sodium.
