Summer Berry Crisp

Is there anything better than going to a party, plopping down a dessert, and watching as hordes of people attack the yummy goodness you created, while ignoring all the other goodies on the table? Well, the dessert itself might be a little better, but the feeling is still pretty darn good. If you’re looking for a staple dessert that you can take to any outing, picnic, or party, look no further. This summer berry crisp recipe from Talia of Party in My Plants {k9fvdzjg} is a definite crowd pleaser. Thankfully, this crisp is easy to make, and requires very few ingredients, which is obviously great news for you since you’ll be making it all the time!

INGREDIENTS

  • 5–6 cups berries
  • ½ cup+ 2 tablespoons coconut sugar
  • 2 cups oats
  • 1 cup almond meal
  • 1 cup pecans
  • 1–2 scoops vanilla Sunwarrior protein
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons coconut oil (room temperature)

DIRECTIONS

Take off those rings, wash those hands, and massage that coconut oil right into the mixture.

Start by preheating your oven then dumping 5–6 cups of berries into a bowl. Which berries, you say? We say, whichever berries you love! Strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, heck… we don’t care. This is your dessert! Throw in a little coconut sugar, and give it a good mixin’. Spread your berries into a greased casserole dish, then set aside. To another bowl, dump in 2 cups of oats, 1 cup of almond meal, 1 cup of pecans, a scoop or two of  vanilla Sunwarrior protein, half a teaspoon of salt, and some coconut sugar. Mix those dry ingredients up, then add 6 tablespoons of room temperature coconut oil. Take off those rings, wash those hands, and massage that coconut oil right into the mixture.

Bring your berries back into the picture, and plop your mixture evenly onto the berries. Simple as that. Scoot this masterpiece right into your oven, and bake for 45–50 minutes, or until it smells fresh, and has a golden top, and you just can’t wait any longer. Remove, let it cool, and enjoy! If you so wish (and we think you should) top it off with a little dairy-free ice cream or coconut cream.
