DIY Activated Charcoal Toothpaste
For that bright smile you long for without the chemical side effects of brighteners and toothpastes that aren’t good for you, we bring you a DIY activated charcoal toothpaste! Go ahead. Smile!
There are a lot of recipes for activated charcoal toothpaste, a lot of them are a little too “pasty” for my taste. This recipe has more of a powder texture that makes it a little more palatable. If you prefer a wetter sort of paste, add more coconut oil to the recipe. Activated charcoal offers a natural way to brighten your smile and the ingredients in this recipe work together to remove light staining on your teeth as well as kill the bacteria that lead to bad breath and tooth decay.
Be smart when using activated charcoal (or any substance) on your teeth. Don’t brush hard. Swirl the toothbrush in gentle circles over your teeth. If your toothpaste feels too gritty, you will want to use a different brand of activated charcoal. You want to brighten your smile, not erode enamel, so save your aggression for the gym, not the bathroom, and brush your teeth gently.
