Apple or Pear-fect Power Smoothie




For pre or post workout awesomeness and a refreshing boost to your immune system, you’ve got to try this apple or pear-fect Power smoothie!

Apple or Pear-fect Power Smoothie

INGREDIENTS

  • ½ cup parsley
  • ½ cup kale
  • 1 small ripe organic pear or apple
  • 1 tablespoon applesauce, chia seed, and butter (Combine 1/3 cup apple sauce with 2 tablespoons chia seeds, soaked overnight or for at least fifteen minutes)
  • 1 tablespoon hemp
  • 1 tablespoon flax seeds
  • 1 small nob ginger, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon soaked gogi berries, optional
  • ½ cup coconut water or non-dairy milk
  • ½ cup ice
  • 1 teaspoon Ormus greens
  • 1 teaspoon Liquid Light
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric
  • Generous grind black pepper and a dash cayenne if desired.
  • Optional add-ins: 1 serving each acerola cherry powder and maca root powder
  • Garnish ideas – Raw pistachios, cacao nibs or hemp seeds, berries or a generous crumble of a Two Moms in the Raw bar

DIRECTIONS

Measure all of the ingredients into your power blender in the order above. Blend using the tamper beginning on low and powering up. Add additional liquid or ice as needed.

Pour into a tall glass, garnish as desired and enjoy this frosty treat with a spoon for it is thick and creamy. (Like it thinner – simply add more liquid).

Teri’s Tips:

If you aren’t using a high powered like the affordable Harley Pasternak, then you may prefer to choose softer greens such as watercress and spinach and grind the flax seeds before blending. This will ensure a creamier, smooth texture.
