Seeing the images at our 3rd ultrasound was one of the most memorable moments of my life. My husband was out of town, so my wonderful mom came with me. We were there to find out the baby’s sex! We didn’t know however, that they couldn’t disclose the gender right then and there. In Canada, the midwife or doctor needs to share that information.
Regardless, it was so thrilling to see my baby moving for over an hour—so active and sweet! But the best part was two days later, getting the call from the midwife. I ran into the nursery to ground myself and prepare for the news. The moment she told us the baby was a little boy, I wept with pure joy!
He was suddenly a person, more than “baby.” It’s amazing how much more real he became with a gender. Think, one day he’ll be a toddler, then a teenager, and then…a man!
I feel even more connected to him now. He’s kicking, flipping, and moving like crazy! I think all of those superfoods I feed him are actually turning him into a super baby! In fact, as I write this, I’m eating a chia pudding with organic mango and golden berries. I think he likes it.
