What is ACAI?
Acai (ah-sigh-ee) is a small, dark purple, low-glycemic berry from a palm tree that grows throughout the tropical rain forests of Central and South America and has been a staple in the diet of indigenous cultures for centuries. It has a flavor that's somewhere between chocolate and wild berries, and its abundant, fat-burning omega fatty acid content gives acai a unique and creamy texture. Acai has a high antioxidant profile as well as protein and fiber which helps keep you satiated during the day.
Navitas Naturals Acai Powder contains a multitude of vitamins and minerals including B-vitamins, vitamin K, potassium and manganese, and potent antioxidants like resveratrol, cyanidin-3-galactoside, ferulic acid, delphinidin, epicatechin, protocatechuic acid and ellagic. Acai is also a great source of essential fatty acids: oleic and linoleic acids that help promote glowing skin and shiny hair. (Gracious Living top pick from www.NavitasNaturals.com )
What is MAQUI?
Amazingly, the rich, dark purple berries contain more antioxidants than any discovered food on earth! It has high amounts of vitamin C, as well as vitamin A, vitamin E, calcium, iron, and potassium, and is a big source of polyphenols including anti-aging anthocyanins, and anti-inflammatory compounds. Maqui berries have been found to have an incredibly high ORAC value (more than four times higher than blueberries and twice as much as acai berries), which measures the antioxidant capacity of foods.
