Rose Water Benefits
February 04, 2016Roses are for more than making your beloved sigh with a goofy grin and smother you in kisses (though that is nice). Discover all the benefits of rose water!
Rose water is simply water extracted from heating pure rose petals in water. Some of the products found in store may have other elements in them such as glycerin, witch hazel, or lavender. Whatever you may try out, make sure the product is USDA certified organic and has no preservatives and chemicals added to it. Rose water can be used for amazing reasons as their benefits are powerful and affordable.
Toner
Rose water has a cooling nature and can be used on your skin as an excellent toner. Once you rinse your face with some warm water, or even after a workout or on a hot day outside, you can spray your face with some rose water or dab some on your skin to close the open pores and to keep your skin clean and refreshed.
Mood Enhancer
Due to its pleasant and aromatic nature, rose water has been used as a relaxant. A few sprays of rose water can be used on your pillows or even on your clothes to give you a relaxed feel. In Indian weddings, rose waters are sprayed on every person who enters the event to represent good energy and feelings.
Anti-inflammatory
Due to its well-known anti-inflammatory properties, rose water can be used on your skin to reduce irritation, redness, itchiness, or sun burns. A small amount can go a long way. You can also use a tablespoon of food grade rose water internally for the same benefits.
Skin: Natural Cosmetics
With the growing health and beauty industry, there are a million products out there promoting themselves as natural or organic. The best product you can give yourself is the one where you know the products completely and the one, which is home made. For example, you can mix rose water with baking soda and coconut oil to create a deodorant; you can also mix rose water with alcohol to create a natural hand sanitizer.
Hair: Natural Cosmetics
As we are exposed to climate changes, pollution, and constant stress. Just like our skin, our hair is exposed to damage and constant pressure. Rose water acts as a great moisturizer and conditioner. Add some rose water to coconut oil or castor oil, apply on your hair, and rinse thoroughly. Or you can add some rose water to apple cider vinegar diluted with water as a conditioner.
Add some chocolate to those roses and you are set!
