How To Use A Mindful Morning Routine To Reach Your Goals

No matter what you do, the most successful people in your field have a set morning routine that helps them align their lives and be more productive each day. A morning routine is essential if you want to get more done and be more successful.

You can set up your morning routine anyway that you like so that you begin to look forward to waking up rather than dreading it. Be sure to have a set of steps that you follow every day. That way you will be sure to reap the benefits of having a morning routine.

Here is a few ideas that you can use to develop a morning routine that you love:

  • Wake up earlier
  • Take cold showers in the morning
  • Meditate daily
  • Journal, set goals, and repeat affirmations
  • Exercise at least 30 minutes right after you wake up
  1. Wake Up Earlier

Some people like to wake up earlier and start their day around 4 AM. Others feel best when they wake up at 6:30 AM. Apple CEO, Tim Cook, reported that he wakes up at 3:45 every morning to get a head start on his day.

Whenever you decide to wake up really depends on what suits you best. You just want to be sure that you have enough time to complete your morning routine.

I would recommend waking up around 5 AM. That way you still feel rested, but you are able to get the majority of your work done early.

If you are a chronic snooze button pusher, try setting your phone across the room. That way you’ll have to get up out of bed to shut off your alarm. Once you actually get up, you’ll find that it’s easier to stay awake.

2.Take a Cold Shower

If you find that you feel super exhausted in the morning even when you get adequate sleep, you might want to try taking cold showers. A cold shower is sure to wake you up and make you feel refreshed.

It may be difficult to do this one during the cold winter months, but cold showers are actually associated with several health benefits.

You’ll find that a cold shower:

  • Increases your immune system
  • Helps your muscles to recover faster and reduces muscle soreness
  • Increases your body’s circulation
  • Keeps your hair and skin more moisturized and glowing.

3. Meditate

Meditation is great for putting you in the right mindset. You’ll find that you can dramatically reduce stress levels, stabilize your mood, and reduce inflammation in your body after you use meditation consistently.

You don’t have to be perfect at meditation to reap the benefits. Meditation isn’t about emptying your mind while sitting with your legs crossed and your palms open resting on your knees.

Meditation is simply a set of techniques that are used to increase awareness of one’s self and one’s surroundings. Meditation is a way to train your mind.

Don’t determine your success at meditating at the end of your practice. Instead check in at the end of the day. Did you feel more patient in stressful situations? Were you more focused and more productive?

4. Journaling

Journaling is a great way to get your goals down on paper. I personally use a journal to set goals and then come up with habits that will help me accomplish those goals.

But, you can use a journal in a number of ways. Journaling can be used in a therapeutic way where you write about your emotions and jot down positive inspiration for the day.

Or you can use journaling for setting affirmations. If you’ve ever heard of the law of attraction or the law of vibration, you understand the importance of changing your internal paradigm with affirmations.

If you don’t change your internal set dialogue , how will you ever change your life. You don’t have to react to situations. You can respond rationally.

Writing affirmations in a journal repetitively will change your mindset. With a new mindset, you’ll find that you accomplish what you want to do easier, faster, and with more motivation.

5. Exercise

Exercise is great way to clear your head and feel more energized in the morning. When you exercise, your body releases endorphins. These endorphins trigger positive feelings that make you genuinely feel happier.

If you find that you’re extra grumpy in the morning, maybe you don’t need another cup of coffee. Maybe all you need is to start your day off with exercise.

It doesn’t matter what kind of exercise you do. You don’t have to trek to the gym if you prefer to go on a jog outside. Listen to what your body enjoys. Most importantly, just get your body moving for at least 30 minutes.
