June 24, 2015Your personal Healthinista and fitness expert joins you from Sunwarrior’s headquarters in Southern Utah with her top healthy fat sources.
Many people are afraid of fats, but fats are a vital nutrient your body needs from good sources every day for healthy cells, brain function, nerves, hair, skin, nails, hearts, and so much more. Fats were maligned for some time, but we’re now discovering this hatred and fear was unfounded and should have been directed more at processed sugars.
Coconut meat is another healthy fat source. It’s mildly sweet, filling, and another good addition to smoothies.
Nuts are your go-to snack food, especially on-the-go. They are easily transported and pack a lot of nutrients into a small package. Reach for them when you feel snacky.
Coconut oil is Marzia’s next good fat. You can cook with it, bake with it, eat it, put it in a smoothie, and use it externally too for bruises, rashes, fungal infections, to soften and condition, or even to make your hair healthier. It’s fantastic stuff.
Nut butters are very versatile too. They can be used on sandwiches, with bananas and other fruits, in smoothies, and in cooking too.
Chia seeds round out the list. These tiny seeds are rich in plenty of healthy fats and fiber. They work well in dressings, smoothies, puddings, cooking, in water or juice.
Eat some of these good fat sources every day and you will notice a difference in the way you look and feel.
