Balancing Your Energy
September 02, 2016Energy cannot be created or destroyed, so what do we do when we realize our energy gauge is on empty? Luckily, there are ways to store up energy!
As living beings, we are made up of living cells. These living cells are packed with abundant energy. Simple physics states: energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be transferred. With that said, how do we apply this simple concept of physics in our everyday life?
There are some days where energy fills us: we can hike for hours, party all night, and still feel great at the end of it all. Some days, even sitting up and doing normal chores can feel like a drag. Why does this happen? Why can’t we have this constant, abundant energy and have this awesome life all the time? Many factors play into this: stress, diet, climate, built-up toxins, poor lifestyle, and more. Follow a few tips and help your body reboot so yu can get your energy levels back.
Replace Coffee
Drinking shots and shots of espresso or jars of freshly brewed coffee may feel good to you. But this creates an acidic environment in your body. Another consequence may be that your body may become immune to coffee until you no longer feel energized by the beverage, but are left feeling sluggish and lethargic. Start switching your drinks with yerba mate tea, green tea, or even green matcha latte. They are known to increase energy and heighten your metabolic rate.
Stress Management
Leading a lifestyle with no stress is close to impossible these days. We face challenges constantly; it’s a fact of living. But managing stress in an unhealthy way depletes your body’s vital energy, reduces your immunity, and causes several health problems. Create a habit that you can sustain for life.
For example; go out on long walks, watch a movie, meet your friends, meditate. Do what you can to prevent food binging, consuming too much alcohol, or simply brooding over circumstances in your life. All three of these activities cause havoc in your life and furthers the wrong kind of energy.
Asana & Yoga Practice
One of the most beneficial things about practicing yoga through a regular asana practice is the ability to bring in more energy into your body. That energy will pump life to your cells. The concept of Ujayi breathing along with Mula Banda helps move your breath and energy upwards, instead of downwards. This, in turn, increases your lung capacity, blood flow, escalates detoxification process, reduces blood pressure, and, above all, balances your energy.
Wholesome Diet
There is nothing that would work wonders on you more than a wholesome diet. Eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, and seeds. Such a diet is packed with nutrients, natural carbohydrates, protein, and fats. Following this diet will keep your system alkaline, quicken cell regeneration, and balance your internal energy. You are what you eat .Eating clean, fresh vegetables and fruits will transfer quick energy into your body. Before you eat, ask yourself what kind of energy you want to be transferred to you?
