Single Leg Standup Exercise

All the single leggies, all the single leggies! Healthy Housewife Marzia Prince shares an exercise you can do almost anywhere, anytime to strengthen and tone your legs and core.

To do this workout all you need is something to sit on, like a bench, a chair, box, or even a bucket. Begin in a seated position. Raise one leg slightly off the ground and then, keeping your core tight and chest high, stand straight up on the other leg, pause for a moment, and sit back down. Do 3 sets of 15 or do them for 30 seconds, whichever works best for you. Don’t forget to repeat the exercise with the opposite leg.

For beginners it’s best to keep a slow and controlled motion. For more advanced you may go a little faster. You may notice you are stronger on one side than the other which is just fine. Doing unilateral movements like this will help strengthen the weak side equally.
