Raw Banana Bread

Stop loafing around and try some raw banana bread that is so good it will drive you . . . well, bananas!

Who doesn’t love banana bread! Banana bread is one of those treats that is amazing, but sadly it is filled with processed and refined sugars, butter, preservatives, and flours. Although bananas are an incredible way to start the morning, opting for that slice of banana bread at your local cafe is not the greatest start. It will leave you feeling lethargic and heavy. You may feel as though you’re crashing an hour or two after consuming it because your body is working double time to digest it. Now, how about we replace that with a more nutrient-dense cake? This raw vegan version will keep you energized and satiated! This banana loaf is gluten free, grain free, dairy free and one hundred percent raw vegan. It’s also delicious, naturally sweetened, and will come together in less than ten minutes.

This recipe uses whole foods. We use an abundance of fruit and vegetables along with nuts, dates and flax meal. Flax meal is super high in fiber and low in carbohydrates. Flax is high in both insoluble and soluble fiber. This can help reduce sugar cravings, increase fat loss, and keep you satiated longer. Flax seeds are also high in Omega-3 fatty acids which is crucial for a healthy diet. We also used a blend of both brazil nuts and walnuts: both with incredible health properties. These both increase brain health, helping to improve cognitive abilities.

We used a dehydrator in this recipe, but you can always place it in the oven at the lowest temperature for 6 hours. This banana loaf can be enjoyed anytime during the day, morning to night! Try not to eat all of the dough out of the bowl before baking it. Top this banana bread with nut butter or jam to add an extra dose of deliciousness.
