Healthy Green Smoothie for Mom and Growing Baby

I have always loved making smoothies and eating healthy. But now that I am five months pregnant with my first child, I want more goodness for my body and growing baby! I love to research what is good for certain months of pregnancy and strive to get a wide range of vitamins and nutrients in every day.
That all being said, expectant moms get all sorts of cravings! And although it is nice to give in to those cravings from time to time, it’s best to start your day on a healthy note. So, no matter how you finish the day (my personal favorite is scooping almond butter out of the container with chunks of dark chocolate and placing them directly into my mouth!), you know you got the nutrients you and your baby needed for the day!
Also, the way I see it, if you are consuming fresh, live, wholesome and organic foods, a little slip-up here and there is handled easier by your body! You have a fine oiled machine that can process junk that may be consumed later in the day. So I make sure I start my day right and get in a good portion of fresh fruits, veggies, vitamins and minerals first thing in the morning. That way, if my day ends with a few yummy finger foods, I don’t feel as awful as I would have otherwise!
So, how do I make sure to get all those vitamin and enzyme rich foods in? It’s easy! I just make my Green Goddess Smoothie!
