Fresh Juice Popsicles: Sunshine on a Stick!
February 26, 2016Summer: Ain't no sunshine when she's gone. These popsicles are the first step toward making your own sunshine.
Healthinista Marzia Prince, your always helpful health and fitness expert, is in her kitchen to talk about freshly pressed popsicles. That’s right! You don’t have to settle for the sugary, artificial stuff when you want a sweet, icy treat.
Marzia has three fresh juices to get you started. She has a green juice with apple which is great because studies have shown apples to aid in the prevention of many different kinds of cancer, lower cholesterol and aids in weight loss.
The second juice is pineapple ginger. Pineapples have been shown to aid macular degeneration, and to strengthen your bones and gums and relieves some of the aches and pains of arthritis. Ginger also aids in preventing certain kinds of cancer, and it is a fabulous cold and flu reliever as well as aids in the relief of all those other upsets that happen to the stomach: motion and morning sickness. If you have a headache or menstrual cramps, ginger relieves those pains as well. Ginger is awesome!
Lastly, she used an apple orange & carrot juice. You don’t have to stick to these three. Make your own juice recipe. You can even cut up berries to drop in your popsicle molds for some extra goodness. Oranges are notorious for their vitamin C benefits but they also have a high amount of calcium and regenerate your body’s supply of vitamin E.
Simply pour the juice into your molds, pop the lid on, put them in the freezer, and pull them out to enjoy them after an hour or so. These taste amazing, and they’ll make you feel great too. Share them with your friends, kids, family, and loved ones…or not; we don’t judge.
