It’s chocolate month! That’s right; February is National Chocolate Month! What better way to celebrate than with chocolate protein rice crispy treats!rn
If you love chocolate as much as the next chocoholic, then these crispy treats from Talia of Party in my Plants are your saving grace. There’s nothing wrong with enjoying a little chocolate now and then, right? Right. Especially when it’s added to these other healthier ingredients to make a chocolate lover’s dream. These brown rice crispy treats have all the amazing taste and all the beloved stickiness as the original rice crispy treats. But they’re high in protein, and won’t leave you with a feeling of guilt.
In a large bowl, mix your rice crispy cereal with your vanilla protein powder and set aside.
In a small saucepan on the stove, melt your nut butter, brown rice syrup, salt, vanilla and coconut oil (it should probably take around 3 minutes). Then take that delicious mixture and dump it over the rice crispies and mix WELL!
Once everything is well incorporated (no protein powder dust left at the bottom), you can add in your chocolate chips, give it another great mix and press your crispy treats into a square pan lined with parchment paper.
Pop this pan into your freezer and let it chill for 10 minutes, then remove from freezer and slice your treats into squares. Put it back in the freezer for 10 more minutes and then you are ready to indulge! In chocolate! For National Chocolate Month! Yes! That’s a thing!
