5 Ways to Glowing Skin
June 07, 2017Your skin is the largest organ of your body. Take care of it, and it will take care of you with a smooth glow that shows your health and vitality!
Our skin is the largest organ of our body. And we consistently expose it to harsh chemicals, pollutants, and unnatural elements that cannot only ruin your skin complexion but can be directly absorbed into the bloodstream and cause deeper health problems. In order to maintain a good, healthy skin, it’s not just important what you put on your skin, it’s also important what you put in your body when you eat.
Apart from eating a clean diet and working out, there are things we can do on a daily basis to assist healthy skin. Here are a few things you can do to give you that amazing glowing skin.
No Face Touch Rule
I have a hard time not touching my face. After a sweaty yoga session or workout or simply typing away on the laptop and then touching your face means you are prone to get that skin breakout. Your hands are filled with germs and bacteria from various sources which you do not want to put on your face. Try washing your hands frequently or carrying around a hand sanitizer to prevent this from happening. And if you can, work on the habit of not touching you face frequently.
Dry Brush
Dry brushing is a wonderful way to exfoliate and remove dead cells from your body. By gently moving the dry brush over your skin, you improve blood circulation, detox your lymphatic system, and help your body to regenerate new skin quickly. You can also use a small brush or a dry cloth to do the same on your face.
Collagen
As we age and expose ourselves to different environmental pollutants, we are proportionally wearing off our skins’ elasticity and tone. One of the key elements that gives your skin the tight, glowing and uplifted look is because of collagen. Collagen keeps your skin together and increases elasticity along with improving hair and nail growth. Collagen supplements are sold in various health stores and can be taken in drops with water or smoothies.
No Sharing Rule
Sometimes, sharing is not caring. This applies to sharing towels, pillow covers and other products that make contact with your face. One of the biggest germ houses lives on your bedding and towels. By sharing these with others, you are prone to more skin infection and breakouts. Try to wash your bedding frequently and keep your bathroom essentials separate.
Eco Living
Eating right and working out is important, but if you are trying to be more eco- friendly or live a conscious lifestyle, then you may want to start paying attention to what you bring into your home. Focus on making your cleaners, room fresheners, and other products natural. You’ll be surprised at how a few ingredients from your kitchen can do the trick. All furniture, paint, and product in your home consistently produce toxins. As a starter, you can get rid of plastic, buy natural cleaners and natural laundry detergents, stop using leather, start using sage instead of room fresher, and so on. This is not just healthy for you but extremely good for your wallet.
Eat right. Stay active. Be happy.
