5 Reasons to Become a Morning Person
March 20, 2017“Rise and shine!” Is this how you greet the day, or are you more of a “five-more-minutes-mom” person? Here’s 5 reasons to end the night owl prowl.
Are you a morning person? Are you the first person in your family to wake up, or are you the one in your family struggling to get out of bed every single morning. Even if you are a hard-core night owl, you can, in fact, become a morning person. I’ve seen many people who are night owls work to become a morning person, so it is possible. I love waking up in the morning, when it is peaceful and quiet, to enjoy the first workout of the day, to do some reading, or to watch the beautiful sunrise. As springtime is upon us and summer is quickly on its way, this is the perfect time to become a morning person.
Morning people are happier, healthier, and more successful. Here are 5 reasons why YOU should become a morning person.
1) Head Start
Nowadays, most people are in way over their heads with busyness. It’s almost too ridiculous with how busy people make themselves. When you start the day earlier, it gives you a jump-start to the day. It also helps you wake up sooner, sets the tone for the day, and allows you to hit the ground running.
2) Get Your Workout In
I find that exercising in the morning is the best time! Also, you usually have fewer excuses in the morning to skip out on your workout. Get your workout done before you’re tired and have a million reasons not to get it done. One huge benefit of working out in the morning is that it helps speed up your metabolism. Therefore, that means that your metabolism gets a head start for the day!
3) Peaceful
First, I’ll just start off with two words: beautiful sunrise. Do I really need to say anything else? What else do you think of when you see a beautiful orange, yellow, pink, purple sky? Besides seeing those beautiful sunrises, waking up early in the morning gives you that much-needed alone time. Having alone time in the morning is important especially if you have a family or a busy work schedule. The morning is a perfect time for that, and it can also set the mood for the rest of the day.
4) More hours to be productive
Well, of course, this one makes sense. When you wake up in the morning, you can start the day off early, but you can also find more hours to be productive. When you wake up at 5am, you get more things done than if you wake up at 7am. I know you’re all saying you can get the same things done in the same hours if you sleep in and just go to bed later but it’s not true. Productivity creates productivity. Accomplishment earlier in the morning creates a much-needed boost to continued accomplishment. Starting later in the day diminishes the early accomplishments and drags out the rest of the day.
5) Early to Rise Turns to a Great Night of Sleep
It seems like a great reason. You wake up earlier; you go to bed earlier, right? When you wake up earlier, most times you want and are ready for bed sooner. Trust me, when you wake up at 5am, you will be ready for bed at 9pm. This allows you to awake bright and early the next day and the next after that into you are in a pattern of accomplishment and beautiful mornings!
There you go! Those are the few reasons why you should become a morning person! So get up early, see those beautiful sunrises, and get going!
