4 Ways to get a Healthy Belly this Summer!
May 18, 2018Health your way to that bikini body and flat stomach with these 4 ways to a healthy belly this summer!
Getting that flat washboard stomach is everyone’s dream. There is a big hype about getting the perfect bikini body or beach body or whatnot. We, as people, start focusing so much on the surface level visionary aspect of good health that we forget what lies underneath it. Am I saying people who have six-pack abs may not be healthy? Yes!! Having a six-pack ab does not mean you are at 100% good health nor does it mean one is perfect. Hence, let’s talk about a healthy belly and not a fat belly for a change. Here are four things you can consume to get your belly in good health.
Water
You have heard this a hundred times. And, I am going to repeat it. You are made up of 70% water. Water is critical not just to keep you alive, but also to keep your organs functioning, to keep your hormones in balance, to keep your blood flowing and above all keeping your gut in good health. No matter how healthy you eat, if you don’t consume enough water, you would end up clogging your colon, which in turns leads to bloating, depression, constipation, and more issues. Drink at least 2–3 liters water a day. If you need, drink some coconut water or lime juice to switch things up.
Probiotics
Aging, stressful lifestyle, and unhealthy diet are major factors to a poor gut. We, undergo a lot of stress and anxiety and deplete our body of its natural electrolytes and flora. One of the major causes of this could be intense exercises or poor eating or leading a sedentary lifestyle. One of these could strip your body of good flora, which can cause bad skin, depression, bloated stomach, irregular bowel movements, and more.
In order to maintain a good flora (good bacteria) in your stomach, you can take probiotic supplements. And you can eat more fermented dishes: kimchi, coconut yogurt, sauerkraut, and kombucha are a few things you could consume to balance the good bacteria in your gut.
Coconut Oil and Turmeric
This powerful duo is known for its anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory qualities. They are high in essential vitamins and minerals. Consuming a tablespoon of these two things to begin your morning can help to activate your liver and intestines. They help energize your body and reduce inflammation naturally. Coconut oil is also known as a natural lubricant, which helps to maintain good bowel movement, increase flexibility, and add strength to your bones and joints.
You can consume turmeric and coconut by themselves or add a generous spoonful of each combined together in your favorite smoothie!
