Simple Insomnia Sleep Solution

You might lose if you don’t snooze. That’s why we’re bringing you a solution to your sleep issues that will get you relaxed faster than you can say insomnia begone!

This recipe contains two powerhouse herbs historically known to naturally soothe nerves, reduce inflammation, and aid sleep.

Lavender

Lavender has been dubbed the Swiss Army knife of herbal medicine and for good reason. Its applications range from relaxing muscles to taming upset stomach to relieving depression. Dried lavender can also be inserted into a small muslin pouch, which can be tucked under your pillow, where its scent will help you sleep better. To further layer your lavender experience, rub three drops of lavender essential oil into your palms, then inhale from your cupped palms to draw the scent all the way into your brain to calm the mind. Next, rub lavender oil on the feet, temples, and wrists to create an immediate calming effect on the body.

Chamomile

Chamomile is just as much of a heavy hitter. It can relieve a caffeine withdrawal headache, overactive bladder, heartburn, gas, morning sickness, and many other discomforts have been quelled by the herb. Use chamomile in compression or as a salve in cases of insect bites, burns or psoriasis. In a sitz bath, this quiet soother may even relieve hemorrhoids. If you have a known sensitivity to ragweed, daisies, asters, marigolds, or chrysanthemums, use this tea with caution. Chamomile is not recommended for pregnant women; however, it is considered an excellent herb for children—studies have shown the herb naturally combats E. coli, streptococcus and staphylococcus bacteria.

This Simple Sleep Solution combines both of these sleep-friendly herbs into one long-steeped tea. Drink all at once before bed or sip gradually over the course of your evening for calming, relaxed sleep—and wake up fully refreshed!
