Having grown up in an Indian home, Zain felt blessed to receive her first teachings of yoga and Ayurveda as a child through the ancient epics of the Mahabharata and the Ramayana. The pastimes from these sacred texts served as her spiritual foundation and created a burning desire within her to pursue yoga as a lifelong spiritual practice, although at that time, she was unsure of what exactly that entailed.
From her first asana practice at the age of nine Zain describes feeling “an innate familiarity, as though the teachings were already a part of her being and she was merely being reminded of them. It was a feeling of coming home.” It was this feeling that brought her back to yoga repeatedly throughout her life.
Zain believes that that yoga is not a learned practice but one that already exists within each of our spirits, waiting to be revealed.
Although always athletic, Zain’s passion for fitness, health and her yogic roots intensified after she was brought to her knees and nearly lost her life in a four-year battle with Anorexia in her twenties. Through her recovery journey, Zain gained immeasurable insight into the intricacies of the human body, the mind/body/spirit connection and the importance of nutrition and supplementation, thus healing herself completely.
Currently, Zain lives in her hometown of Vancouver where she uses her personal experience and knowledge in holistic nutrition, fitness, recovery and yoga to aid her clients in achieving their dream physiques, optimum health and vitality with her custom meal plans and delicious recipes.
A gifted clean-eating chef, Zain is known as the girl who can ‘turn any dirty recipe clean.’ She is the creator of the successful lifestyle blog, Eve Post Apple, where she shares her recipes, workouts and a wealth of information pertaining to health, fitness, yoga and nutrition.
Zain has spent the last several years rebuilding all aspects of herself as a woman, athlete, fitness model and role model and she is passionate about using her experiences and understanding to help and inspire others toward a life of health and fitness.
This year, Zain has been featured on CTV Noon News Hour, Tosca Reno’s Blog, The Yoga Magazine, Lululemon Ambassador Feature, as well as in Oxygen Magazine’s Off The Couch Special Issue.
