There are several safe at-home remedies to detox.

Lemon Water

Each day, start your mornings with fresh lemon juice in warm or room temperature water. Drink 1 to 2 cups of lemon water upon rising before drinking coffee, tea, or anything else. This helps flush your digestive system and rehydrates your body. Drinking lemon water is a quick, easy, and natural way to flush your liver. While you sleep your liver is hard at work restoring and regenerating, so drinking enough water in the morning right when you get up, helps this process. Lemon juice is also known to stimulate stomach acid and bile production. Lemons are high in Vitamin C and contain potassium, which helps support the immune system. Drinking lemon water is a mild, gentle cleanse that can be performed daily.

Salt Water Flush (Cleanse)

This is an easy way to flush or cleanse your bowels. If you are feeling sluggish, constipated, or you need help getting things moving, this cleanse will help your colon and digestive system by forcing a bowel movement. Some people use this method to kick-start the beginning of their clean eating program as a way to rid the body of that “heavy” feeling. When you drink a salt cleanse, it helps rid the body of toxins naturally and helps with waste elimination, which ultimately gets the digestive system back on track. A salt-water cleanse is best done upon waking up, on an empty stomach. If the cleanse is done later in the day. make sure not to eat anything for two hours before. When picking a salt, pink or gray salts work best, such as pink Himalayan salt or Celtic sea salt. Make sure not to use iodized or table salt. All you need for this cleanse is two teaspoons of sea salt and one liter of filtered warm or room temperature water (you can boil the water first, then drink when warm or room temp). Use a glass jar with a lid, add salt and make sure it dissolves. You can add fresh lemon water as well. When the mixture is warm, drink the whole liter within five minutes. If you drink it too slow, this won’t encourage a bowel movement. You should feel the need to go within 30 minutes. The results can vary, as some people have repeated, loose stool for several hours. Because of this, make sure you plan your time and situation appropriately. This is not a cleanse that should be done frequently.

Celery Juice

Pure celery juice has potent healing properties. This is beneficial for people who suffer from chronic & mystery illnesses: autoimmune, Hashimoto’s, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, Lyme, migraines, celiac, IBS, diabetes, and so much more. Celery juice is known to calm down and reverse inflammation because it starves the pathogens. It contains sodium cluster salts (mineral salts) that act together as an antiseptic – breaking down pathogens and eventually killing and destroying them. Mineral salts are required to make our bodies function properly and are not the same as sodium. These keep our kidneys and adrenal glands functioning. Mineral salts also increase the hydrochloric acid in your body so you can break down what you eat, especially protein. Additional benefits include balancing pH and cleansing the stomach, digestive tract and liver. To get the benefits, drink 16 oz (2 cups) of pure celery juice every morning on an empty stomach. You will still need to eat breakfast afterward, so make sure to wait at least fifteen minutes after you have finished the juice to eat. It is best to use organic celery, free of pesticides; however, if conventional is the only option, wash and rinse well before juicing. You can drink this daily.

Dry Skin Brushing

This is an easy, quick, and effective way to cleanse your body on the inside and out. Your skin is the largest organ in the human body, and toxins are eliminated through your skin. Dry brushing helps exfoliate, unclog pores, and removes toxins that are trapped in the skin. This can even help reduce cellulite. When you dry brush, you achieve these benefits by stimulating the lymphatic system. All you need is a proper natural fiber brush, one with a long handle is good for those hard to reach areas. Prices range from $10 up, and brushes can be found in health food stores, online, etc. When you dry brush, start by standing in the tub, or on a tile floor. Then begin brushing your naked body from the feet up. Move the brush in circular motions toward your heart. You can brush the same area more than once. Make sure to be gentle on sensitive areas. After you finish brushing, shower off. It is best to take a shower alternating hot and cold water for a few minutes to help stimulate blood circulation. Once you finish your shower, pat your skin dry, and use a natural oil on your skin (such as coconut, rosehip, etc.). This is recommended to do every day.
