Cinnamon Roll Protein Balls

Can you ever really go wrong with cinnamon roll flavored anything? We don’t think so, either, and these cinnamon roll protein balls prove us right!

I have to admit that since becoming vegan, cinnamon has been a craving of mine. I love that it can be used in sweet and savory preparations and that it seems like you can never overdo it (or can you? Nah! Not in my book anyways).

This recipe is so incredibly simple that it only takes 5 minutes from start to finish to have protein ball bliss! A combination of almonds, dates, Classic Plus vanilla protein , and cinnamon is all you need to make this sweet, healthy treat. Personally, I more of a chocolate protein ball kind gal, but using vanilla in this recipe is what really allows the cinnamon be the star of the show! At about 120 calories per ball and 5 grams of protein, you’ll be sure to keep these with you all the time as a quick on the go snack or late night craving crusher. Needless to say, we devoured these as they are the perfect natural sweetness and made us feel good about having “dessert.”

Cinnamon Roll Protein Balls

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups almonds
  • 1 ½ scoops Sunwarrior Classic Plus Vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup pitted dates – soaked in warm water for 30 minutes
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons water

Directions

In a food processor, grind almonds until you get a coarse flour consistency. You’ll want some crunch in the almonds, so don’t go all the way to flour!

Place almond grounds in a large bowl and add the Classic Plus and cinnamon. Mix well to combine.

In the same food processor, add your soaked almonds, maple syrup (if using), and 2 tablespoons water. Process until smooth. Add date mixture to almond mixture and stir well to combine.

Divide batter into 12 balls. Eat right away or store in fridge for up to 2 weeks.
